She started her career in New York as a double major in Fashion Design and Marketing attending The Fashion Institute of Technology. Funding her education she worked for adidas as a footwear color and material specialist throughout college. In 1998 she re-located to Portland, OR to continue her work at adidas. Compelled by her entrepreneurial spirit, in 2002 Michelle left adidas to start a small creative consultancy called Blind Spot Design. For 15 years she’s been helping companies bridge the gap between design and marketing by focusing on go-to-market and brand strategies with the right products at the right time. This year she’s launching a new venture called Stockpot Collective. Stockpot is a creative community of thinkers and doers. We are a group of passionate storytellers working for authentic experiences, growth and cohesive brand strategy through assets and product.

Michelle and her partner Chef Jason French also own a small wood-fired restaurant in NE Portland called Ned Ludd opened in 2008. In 2014 in an attempt to offer the public a unique sensory experience they opened Elder Hall. Elder Hall is a gathering space & event space and serves as a creative hub for eating and drinking, cooking and creating.
